This project involves the construction of a new monitoring well about 2.2 miles west of the Weaver Basins on the site of the District’s Plant 40. Recharging groundwater with recycled water requires monitoring wells to track changes in groundwater quality to ensure unintended negative impacts do not occur.
Two monitoring wells were constructed prior to the start of groundwater recharge at Weaver Basins. Due to the longer travel time for recycled water to reach the Monitoring Well C area, the construction of this well could be done after recharge activity began.
